eyeCiTy eCademy’s “ICT e-Business Skills 2 Employment” programme aims to help unemployed people find employment by providing training in Information and Communications Technology (ICT) alongside development of a range of employability skills to improve prospects for employment. The project aims to promote a clear understanding of current ICT career options, skills requirements and development opportunities.
The ICT e-Business Skills 2 Employment programme helps to meet the growing demands of industry and helps businesses to recruit against “hard-to-fill” vacancies. The programme promotes internationally recognised vocational skills, providing training in a wide range of IT topics including web technology, programming, databases (design or administration), networking, microsoft and employability skills.
The project will provide information, advice and guidance to unemployed people on how to find work, search for jobs, CV and covering letter preparation and interview tips for that all-important first meeting. Support, mentoring and training will consist of ICT skills blended with aspects of a work environment, like friendliness, sustainability, health & safety and general procedure & maintenance skills.

Three Steps to Skills and Employment
Information, Advice and Guidance will provide unemployed individuals with a range of services through out the programme. We will assess your current skills and develop a plan to help you build a career route map – setting out your future in the world of IT. We will provide support in finding work, searching suitable jobs, writing CV’s and covering letters for job interviews. Our specialised support and mentoring team will help you in getting a better understanding of various aspects of a work environment like friendliness, sustainability, health & safety and general procedure & maintenance skills.
Training will promote a clear understanding of current ICT career options, skills requirement and development routes. We will deliver tailored training up to Level 2 in a wide range of topics including web technology, programming, databases, networking, microsoft and employability skills.
Job Placement is the key to opening the power of the training. Working with you we will seek to obtain valuable experience where you can put into practice your newly acquired skills. The project will link you with companies providing job opportunities depending on your interest. We will act as a link between you and the employers or enterprise agencies to provide you with various job options after your qualification from the programme.
Who will benefit?
We are looking to help unemployed individuals who are serious about starting a career in the information and communications technology sector. The programme is targeted at the unemployed individuals in and around the London Boroughs of Islington, Camden, Tower Hamlets, Hackney and Hounslow. To benefit from this programme you must be over 19 years of age.
What is the duration of the courses?
Depending on the individual, this programme could last anywhere between 3 to 6 months, with up to two days training a week.
What is the enrolment cost?
There is no financial cost for the training as this is fully funded by the London Development Agency. Each individual will be expected to invest their time and effort to attending the complete course and acquiring qualifications at the end of the programme. |
